Porcelain Bridges

Porcelain Bridges

A porcelain dental bridge can help you regain your smile if you have missing teeth. Drs. Shah and Velilla can create a perfectly fitting dental bridge to support not only a beautiful, but also a healthy smile. A dental bridge is a partial denture when teeth are missing, filling the empty space. Drs. Shah and Velilla in Detroit Metro will make your smile look amazing.

Missing teeth put you at risk

When teeth are missing it not only affects your confidence, it also puts your mouth at risk for further issues. When missing teeth go untreated you are at higher risk for:

  • Shifting of surrounding teeth
  • Speech issues
  • Atrophy of the jaw bone
  • TMJ
  • Periodontal disease

How a dental bridge can reduce your risk

When the space is filled with a properly fitting dental bridge by Drs. Shah and Velilla, teeth no longer have the freedom to shift. Your lips and tongue will function normally for speech and the bones of the jaw will be less likely to atrophy. The soft tissue will also be less exposed to bacterial infection. Of course one of the greatest benefits of a dental bridge is the way you will feel with a complete and functional smile again!

What can I expect at my appointments?

Our top priority is your comfort during any procedure with our team. We will take all the time you need to understand each step of the process. Typically your porcelain dental bridge can be completed in a few dental visits. The first step of the process is to get a perfect view of the area to ensure a perfectly fitting bridge. We do this by taking a mold of the teeth. During this time it is likely the doctor will prepare the abutting teeth for the dental bridge to be attached. Under local anesthesia the doctor will prepare the teeth, take the mold and then place a temporary bridge. The temporary bridge will help protect the area while your permanent bridge is being crafted.

Once the final porcelain bridge is complete, you will return to the office for the bridge to be cemented into place. After the bridge is placed and the doctors are happy with the way it looks (matches seamlessly with your surrounding teeth) and the way your bite functions you will be on your way! You will be amazed at the difference this procedure can make in your daily life. You will smile with confidence and know your mouth is healthier with your new dental bridge.
